Ted Hopwood came to the Kentucky Transportation Center during its first year, when the Center was transferred to the University from the Kentucky Department of Highways in 1981. Mr. Hopwood is the Program Manager for the Bridge Preservation Group where he oversees research on bridge management, bridge maintenance, protective coatings, nondestructive testing, and bridge evaluation. Mr. Hopwood has served on national committees for the Transportation Research Board, FHWA, and SSPC. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in metallurgy, both from University of Kentucky.
