Conner is from Louisville, KY and decided to pursue mining engineering after taking the engineering grand tour his Senior year of high school. He has had a Summer internship with LG&E/KU and with Coronado Coal. As part of the LG&E/KU corporate fuels team, Conner helped with coal analysis projects, visited mines where coal was sourced, and visited power plants. As an engineering intern with Coronado Coal, he worked in a variety of different departments at the mine to better understand how coal is extracted from the ground and sold as a marketable product. These departments were production, maintenance, preparation plant, safety, and engineering. At UK, Conner is currently the Vice President of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration Norwood Student Chapter, Treasurer of the UK Mine Rescue Team, and an engineering ambassador. After completing his undergraduate degree, he plans to pursue an MBA or other masters degree to make himself more well-rounded. In his free time, Conner enjoys playing bass and cheering on the wildcats.
