My research program leverages fundamental insights from advanced in-situ characterization techniques to transform advanced manufacturing processes into ‘surface engineering’ techniques for improving the life-cycle performance of components such as turbine blades and air frames. Based on in-situ experimental data, our team is developing physics-informed and data-driven approaches for ‘doing more with less,’ helping manufacturers to reduce costs and lead time while improving the performance and sustainability of engineered products for the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries.
