The University of Kentucky Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has been named the 2016-2017 academic year Student Organization of the Year. Given the number of student organizations across campus, the award highlights SWE’s mission to stimulate women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders. SWE members will receive the award at an honors and awards ceremony at the Hilary J. Boone Center on April 18.
SWE has over 150 members and organizes over 40 events a year, including the fall College of Engineering Career Fair. Through professional development, networking and outreach opportunities, SWE serves many women and young girls, both on campus and in the community.
