Seales Featured in Smithsonian Magazine Article

The article, "Secrets of the Scrolls," appeared in the July/August issue. In April, "60 Minutes" devoted a segment to his research and interest in the Herculaneum scrolls.

W. Brent Seales, Chair and Professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Computer Science, was recently featured in a Smithsonian Magazine article for his research into virtually unwrapping ancient scrolls. The article, "Secrets of the Scrolls," appeared in the July/August issue. You can read the article here. 

As a result of his innovations, Seales has become renowned by collectors and curators across the globe, earning a reputation as “the guy who can read the unreadable.” His breakthrough work on the scroll from En-Gedi received international recognition and was featured in Science Advances, the New York Times, Le Monde and the Times of London. In April, "60 Minutes" devoted a segment to his research and interest in the Herculaneum scrolls.
