Her efforts have included leading a wide variety of activities, such as the Kentucky Electronics Education Project (KEEP), which has served more than 2,000 students and trained more than 150 teachers spanning more than 20 years.

Dr. Lumpp has developed STEM activities for K-12 students and led Girls in Science Summer Camps, ECE Women in Engineering Camps, Girls in Engineering, Math and Science (GEMS) Girl Scout Programs, Meadowthorpe is Serving Sisters (MISS) at Meadowthorpe Elementary School and monthly electronics camps for fifth grade girls for over 10 years running. Additionally, she developed physics-based content for Kentucky Educational Television and held membership on the Kentucky state board for fourth grade science standards.

Dr. Lumpp served as the inaugural director of the First-Year Engineering (FYE) program for the college from 2015 until 2019. She was one of the driving forces behind the success of FYE, leading hiring efforts, taking charge of curriculum development efforts for all course offering and coordinating across all academic programs within the college. As a result, the college has made significant gains in increasing second-fall retention and in raising female retention rates.
