Ishan Thakkar, assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is a co-author on a paper that received third place for Best Paper Award at Great Lakes Symposium for Very-Large-Scale Integration (GLSVLSI 2020).
The paper, titled "LORAX: Loss-Aware Approximations for Energy-Efficient Silicon Photonic Networks-on-Chip,” was a collaboration between Thakkar and researchers at Colorado State University.
The conference, which was originally scheduled to be held in Beijing, China, was held virtually.
Thakkar joined the UK College of Engineering faculty in 2018.
