Three Students Win Presentation Awards at Kentucky Water Resources Symposium

Three University of Kentucky College of Engineering students received awards at the 2018 Kentucky Water Resources Annual Symposium. The event took place on March 19 and was held at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington.

Three University of Kentucky College of Engineering students received awards at the 2018 Kentucky Water Resources Annual Symposium. The event took place on March 19 and was held at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington. Each winner received a cash award.

Joyner Eke won “Most Outstanding Student Speaker Presentation” for “Ozonation, Biofiltration and the Role of Membrane Surface Charge and Hydrophobicity in Removal and Destruction of Algal Toxins at Basic pH Values.” Eke is conducting research with chemical engineering professor Escobar.

Sarah Kintner won the “Most Outstanding Undergraduate Poster Presentation” for “The Effect of Applied Electric Potential on the Performance of Nanofiltration Membranes.” Kintner is also in Dr. Escobar’s research group.

Evan Clare won the “Most Outstanding Graduate Poster Presentation” for “Temporal Variations of High Resolution Nutrient Concentrations in Mature VS Immature Karstic Watersheds.” Clare is a graduate student in civil engineering professor James Fox’s research group.
