Fazleena Badurdeen, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has been appointed an associate editor Resources, Conservation and Recycling, one of the highest ranked journals in sustainable management and conservation of resources.
Resources, Conservation and Recycling emphasizes “the transformation processes involved in a transition toward more sustainable production and consumption systems. Emphasis is upon technological, economic, institutional and policy aspects of specific resource management practices, such as conservation, recycling and resource substitution, and of ‘systems-wide’ strategies, such as resource productivity improvement, the restructuring of production and consumption profiles and the transformation of industry.”
Badurdeen has taught at UK since 2005. She is director of graduate studies for the Manufacturing Systems Engineering master’s program, and served as conference co-chair for the 16th Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing held in Lexington, Kentucky in October.
