Research with Professionals
If you want to work with renowned faculty, immerse yourself in an active research lab, present at conferences and publish scientific papers in respected journals, you should consider a graduate degree program at the University of Kentucky.
Over 30 of our faculty members have received CAREER Awards from the National Science Foundation, and the college receives over $70 million annually in grant awards.
Because the Colleges of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Agriculture, Food and Environment are on the same campus, opportunities for collaboration abound.
Student Life
Located in the heart of Lexington, UK’s beautiful campus balances approximately six million square feet in new construction with ornate, historic buildings and plenty of green space. When you’re not in class or the lab, Lexington features a lively downtown, Keeneland Race Track and state parks within a short distance.
The college also has several graduate student-specific organizations, including the Biomedical Engineering Society, and the Materials and Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Association.
Engineering Graduate Student Lounge
A lounge area dedicated solely to Engineering graduate students is located in room 322 of the Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Systems building (CRMS). Entry can be gained through room 324 (kitchen). Please use your UK ID card to enter.
The lounge gives all engineering graduate students a place to relax and interact with each other. The lounge has comfortable seating areas, café tables and chairs, a foosball table, large screen television, and various board games. The adjacent kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and Keurig hot beverage machine.
